Do You Listen?

As an adult do you listen to your body? Do you self accept? Is your life balanced?

My answer is NO. I know I need to listen to my body, my feelings and what I need personally. I need to accept my imperfections as beautiful and I need to find a balance in my life, set my priorities and find inner peace.

Can you relate?

Don't you think if us as adults are searching, don't you think children are going through the same? Trying to understand their feelings, experiencing everything life has to bring and attempt to understand those experiences? Maybe they're in school and want to make friends, but how?

I came across a website called WeDoListen.org.

This is a foundation that "enables children to enjoy inner peace and communicate in effective ways. They create entertaining, educational books, videos, games and songs to help young children become better listeners, learn important life lessons and feel good about themselves. Children who learn these skills will grow up better informed to resolve conflicts and empowered to change the world."

They do this by using one the main character: Howard B. Wigglebottom

Haha I love his name! He is a rabbit who has learned how to listen; who has overcome bullies, gained courage and listens to his heart. He has lost loved ones, is a great team player, and has made new friends. He had to learn these things though. This is where your child benefits.

I am simply amazed with their work and WILL, most definitely be incorporating this website in my classroom. When I have children {one day}, I'll use it at home too.

They have individual hardback books and a whole set! Check them out!

While reading at home your child, student, grand baby, etc. could be holding the book, listening to the story and learning multiple concepts needed for everyday life.

It's the little things that amaze me and this website is a little big thing.
